Position: Senior AccountantPosition Type: PermanentLocation: Hackensack, NJHours: Monday-Friday/ 9am-5pm (Flex start/end time; 7 hours a day; 1hr unpaid lunch)

We are looking for Senior Accountant to join a well established and recognized non-profit organization. This individual will have a large responsibility for budget prepartation, and all aspects of reporting, journal entries, etc. of grants. They will work closely with the Director of Accounting. Candidates MUST have experience working in non-profit. While not required, it would be strongly preferred if candidates have federal funding experience.

What you will be doing: Support the financial reporting in connection with OMB and Agency guidelines for all Head Start & grant programs Prepare and submit expenditure reports to funding authority Prepare various reports including but not limited to: Budget vs. Actual Cash receipts journal Payroll journals and registers General Ledger transactions Benefit analysis Analyze and prepare journal entries & analyze General Ledger Activity In-Kind/Non-Federal Share analysis Assist in audit & special projects Prepares payroll allocations Prepares budgets for applications and contracts Closes out grants Assigns account numbers to purchase orders Prepare & update the Grant List Work with program staff as necessary

What experience we are looking for:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. Relevant work experience may substitute education Proficiency in Financial Edge (Accounting system) a plus Proficiency in computer software, Advanced Excel Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills
