Job Description Job Description This position requires you to
work with children ages 2-4 years old on the Autism Spectrum.
Salary Range is $65,000 - $90,000 annually - Commensurate with
level of certification, education, experience and ABA credentials
(if applicable). Location of position is in Bronx, NY Job Summary
QSAC Special Education Teachers require NY State certification
(Students with Disabilities/B-2 or All Grades). Teaching
responsibilities include implementation of Individualized Education
Plans (IEP), classroom management, participation in annual
meetings, and completion of required reports. Extensive training
and support are provided with opportunities for professional growth
and development. RESPONSIBILITIES Complete required QSAC
orientation. Ensure health, safety & welfare of individuals.
Conduct formal and informal assessments of educational programs and
behavior interventions. Supervise Teacher’s Assistants/Aides and
participate in the implementation of educational programs and
behavior interventions. Implement and adhere to IEP/Student
Program. Supervise and implement completion of program/student
documentation. Supervise and delegate responsibilities to Teacher’s
Assistants/Aides. Complete and maintain training requirements.
Complete required program documentation/certifications (e.g.
Employee Medicals, PPD, CPR, etc. as required).
Interact/communicate with parents, college interns, professionals,
and other interested visitors. Punctuality and regular attendance
is expected. Maintain participant/family confidentiality.
Commitment to company values and adherence to policies. Perform
other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or senior management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early
Childhood Education in at least one of the following areas: Nursery
– Grade 6 General Education, Early Childhood (B-2) General
Education, Childhood Education (Grades 1-6), Special Education (all
grades), Students w/ Disabilities (B-2), Students w/ Disabilities
(1-6), or Pre-K – Grade 6 General Education A NYS Teaching
Certificate in one of the following areas is REQUIRED FOR THIS
ROLE: Students w/ Disabilities B-2 or Students w/ Disabilities All
Grades 3 letters of recommendation required upon hire Experience
with Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis preferred. Ability to
run. Ability to safely assist lifting individuals of various
weights & 20 lb items. Clearance through state mandated
Background/Fingerprint Check(s). Ability to communicate effectively
with others and individuals served. Mission QSAC is a New York City
