Job Description:

We seek a District Sales Manager to work on-site at our local depot, responsible for the growth of sales and the development of Independent Owners (IO's). The DSM communicates sales, stale and service targets and merchandising objectives to assigned IO's. On-going DSM engagement with the IO is focused on improving the operational expertise of the IO. Establishes and maintains a high level of relations with IO's, retail stores management and key customer decision makers, as well as brand management. Serves as the company's front line in ensuring and documenting that IO contractual obligations and best practices are executed in the market. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL TASKSDistrict Development Ensures market and account distribution, service, merchandising, and pricing goals are achieved.Conducts store audits, meeting quarterly goals, including, targets for number of store audits per weekend.Conducts dock to dock route ride, meeting quarterly goals with IO's. Provides appropriate real time coaching, counseling and reinforcement to IO's.Achieves quarterly goals in securing new accounts.Achieves goals in sales of incremental displays to existing customers per quarter Distributor Engagement Ensures IO's are fully informed of sales, stale, service and product/mix distribution targets.Provides necessary coaching to IO's utilizing all reporting and in-store audits to improve results. (Examples of results measured are distribution of brand focus items & new items, display execution targets and merchandising standards compliance.)Responsible for new IO two week on-boarding.Builds IO capabilities to achieve objectives and to secure necessary resources and alignment.Ensures IO usage of POS in order to realize the full sales potential of each route.Acts as the key liaison between the RWM and IO's.Frequently shares market information with all IO's and assists them on problems and opportunities.Reinforces and mutually develops joint goals through the RWM quarterly review process.Maintains brand standards in the market with regard to freshness, merchandising and pricing.Maintains and documents IO contractual compliance or non-compliance in the market.Recruits talent in the field as potential new IO's. Customer Development Generates sales to key retail accounts and develops relationships with store level management.Collaborates across the organization to deliver results.Performs required resets.Establishes, and maintains call frequency on chain and ownership group supervisors to support sales and service levels. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREDPreparation and Training Work requires a high school level of knowledge in order to perform calculations, prepare and read reports, keep accurate records, conduct presentations and/or deal effectively with other people. Bachelor's degree preferred. Computer skills required, including intermediate levels of MS Word and Excel in order to leverage technology to make informed business decisions (HHC knowledge and sales reporting analysis). Proven ability to establish, develop and maintain business relationships with IO's (full day route riding & frequent route operations skill sharing). Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong written and verbal communication Strong selling and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work and demonstrate flexibility. Self-motivated and effective team member Work Experience Position is filled by appointment as determined by management. Must have at least three years of relevant work experience. Must be able to operate a route on an as needed basis (emergency situations). Analytical and Multi-tasking Ability A somewhat high level of analytical ability is required in order to find solutions to difficult human and administrative problems and competitive market conditions and to gather and interpret data. Proven ability to plan and organize to handle multiple projects and commitments and prioritize effectively. Good problem solving skills required.
