North 8, Women's Health, is a 27 bed surgical unit serving the
unique needs of women. We primarily care for patients recovering
from gynecological, uro-gynocology, and gyn/onc procedures as well
as plastic surgery and abdominal procedures. In addition, we care
for stable obstetrical patients such as high risk antepartum, and
postpartum women whose newborns are in the NICU. During surges in
the hospital-wide census, we also admit a small percentage of
female medical patients on North 8 . We offer the opportunity for
the nurse to learn such skills as electronic fetal monitoring,
advanced breastfeeding support, and a wide variety of pre- and
post-operative interventions
Job Summary:
40-hour exempt supervisory position with rotation to evenings, as
needed. Provides clinical care to patients as necessary to meet
unit needs.
Reports directly to the Nurse Manager of North 8. Works
collaboratively with the Managers of Maternity and Labor and
Delivery units to facilitate a smooth transition of patient care
and sharing of resources.
