The Infection Control Director collects, analyzes, and presents data relevant to infection control/infectious diseases. Provides education based upon identified need of associates and in accordance with approved infection control policies and procedures. Develops policies and procedures regarding infection control. Facilitates at the Infection Control Committee and participates in other committees as assigned.

Insure that [unit/department/division] is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; or graduate of an accredited school of Medical Technology or BS Biology trained and educated in surveillance, prevention and control of hospital infections (CDC course or equivalent); knowledgeable in epidemiology, microbiology and biostatistics.
Currently NJ RN licensure; or ASCP certification, CBIC certification preferable (CIC)
A minimum of 3-5 years current clinical experience in hospital infection control with line management experience. Demonstrates effective leadership, decision-making, organizational and interpersonal skills; membership and active participation in professional organization(s), APIC required.
