Job Title: Oncology Registered Nurse CWR
Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift Information:

Hours per Week: 36
Hours per Day: 12
Days per Week: 3

Shift Timing: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Nights)

Schedule Notes: Every other weekend required, holidays required, no on-call

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Oncology CWR is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This includes planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patient needs, performing therapeutic nursing interventions, and advocating for evidence-based practice care standards.

Duties:

• Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient's needs.
• Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized care plans for patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
• Initiate assessments based on patient's problems or needs, physician's medical diagnosis, and functional health framework.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage care of patients.
• Document care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
• Provide patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Skills:
  • Minimum of 1+ years of oncology experience required.
  • Will consider candidates with 2 years of med-surg experience and experience with leukemia/lymphoma/myeloma patients.
  • Experience with Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) is a plus.
  • Proficiency with central line care and blood product administration.
  • Must be willing to float between units. Education:
    
    Required Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN)
    
    Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
    
    Certifications & Licensure:
    
    Required:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
    • RN License (NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license) Preferred:
      • Telemetry Certification
      • Chemotherapy Certification with Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Languages: Proficiency in English (Speak, Read, Write)
        
        Additional Information:
        • Work in a 19-bed BMT/Car T unit
        • Chemo certification with ONS preferred
        • Proficient with central line care and blood product administration
