Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Hospice Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience License: Current NJ State License or Compact Certifications: BLS Required, Proof of both COVID vaccinations and booster required Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Patient ratio experience of 1:13 Description: The role involves providing hospice care in a home health setting. Candidates must have experience with end-stage diagnoses such as cancer, cardiac, and neurological conditions. Responsibilities include pain assessment, medication management, and providing education and support to patients and families. Candidates should be familiar with advanced directives and hospice care protocols. Understanding of the analgesic ladder and various pain management techniques is essential. The position requires cultural awareness and sensitivity to the needs of dying patients and their families. Skilled nursing care and postmortem care are also key responsibilities. Candidates should possess the ability to manage patient care during critical transitions and end-of-life discussions. Experience in charting systems, preferably HomeCare HomeBase, is preferred.
