Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years RN experience required. A registered nurse with cardiac experience in the operating room is needed for a contract opportunity offering structured 8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This role requires call availability with a defined schedule to support patient care during critical periods. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to high-quality perioperative nursing and collaborative care within a dynamic surgical environment. Key Qualifications and Experience: Current and valid state RN license required Valid BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and throughout employment ACLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) certification required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained Minimum of one year perioperative nursing experience or documented on-the-job training Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Prior experience with preoperative and postoperative care Cardiac operating room nursing experience essential Ability to respond to call within 30 minutes; call schedule includes weekdays (11 PM7 AM) at least once weekly, with a maximum of two calls per week and weekend coverage approximately once every five weekends Responsibilities: Deliver direct and indirect perioperative nursing care across all age groups, including neonates to older adults Coordinate patient care between surgeons, anesthesiologists, and operating room staff Guide and oversee OR technicians and support personnel to maintain efficient unit operations Ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements Participate in unit performance improvement, staff meetings, and ongoing education to promote quality patient care Act as a resource to fellow nursing staff and healthcare team members Location Overview:This position is based in Paterson, New Jersey, a vibrant city known for its rich history and diverse cultural environment.
