An opportunity is available for an experienced registered nurse skilled in stepdown care to support a multidisciplinary healthcare team in Pompton Plains, NJ. This contract role requires proficiency in cardiopulmonary monitoring and individualized patient care planning to promote optimal recovery and outcomes in a hospital environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive admission assessments and collect detailed health histories from patients and families across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Develop and implement individualized, age-appropriate care plans emphasizing safety, education, and a healing environment. Continuously assess and adjust patient care needs, delegating appropriately to qualified caregivers. Employ telemetry monitoring techniques, accurately interpret cardiac data, and respond to arrhythmias or chest pain with established protocols and necessary interventions. Document nursing interventions, medication administration, patient responses, and education thoroughly and in compliance with regulatory standards. Facilitate effective patient and family education, providing tailored teaching tools and coordinating discharge planning from admission through hospital stay. Collaborate actively in interdisciplinary care meetings to ensure holistic patient management. Transcribe, verify, and sign off medical orders efficiently while maintaining communication with physicians regarding patient status. Desired Qualifications: Current RN license with experience in stepdown or telemetry nursing. Ability to administer and monitor high-risk intravenous cardiac medications. Proficient in electronic medical record documentation. Strong communication skills addressing diverse patient populations. Knowledgeable of cardiac monitoring systems and chest pain protocols.
