Associate Attorney: Our legal team is committed to providing each
client with quality counsel, innovative solutions, and personalized
service. Founded in 2000, the firm offers the legal expertise of
its 115 attorneys, who have accumulated experience and
problem-solving skills over decades of practice. We are seeking a
Trusts and Estates/ Elder Law Associate to support and expand our
estate planning and elder law practice. This role offers hands-on
training, mentorship, and significant client interaction. The
associate will work closely with senior attorneys and have the
opportunity to develop skills in both planning and
litigation-related work. About the Role: This position is ideal for
someone with a solid foundation in estate planning, or a recent law
school graduate who demonstrates exceptional skill, drive, and
potential. The associate will assist with preparing wills, powers
of attorney, health care proxies, various trusts, Medicaid
applications, and asset protection strategies. This role includes
opportunities to observe client meetings, draft documents, and
gradually take on more independent responsibilities. The associate
will also support litigation-related work involving Surrogate's
Court matters and estate disputes. This component provides exposure
to litigation strategy, court procedures, and case support
responsibilities. Responsibilities: Shadowing Partner-level
attorneys specializing in elder law, special needs planning, estate
planning, estate administration, and guardianships. Assist a senior
attorney who focuses on estate litigation and related litigation
matters. Prepare estate planning documents including wills, powers
of attorney, health care proxies, and various trusts. Support
Medicaid planning, applications, and asset protection strategies.
Assist with matters involving adults and children with
disabilities, seniors, and high-net-worth individuals. Provide
support on Surrogate's Court filings, litigation preparation, and
case management. Engage in both planning and litigation tasks as
needed. Take on more independent work as skills develop. Preferred
Location: Lake Success, NY preferred. Willingness to travel to
Brooklyn if necessary. Qualifications: J.D. from an accredited law
school Licensed to practice law in New York Two years of relevant
experience preferred, or a newly admitted attorney who demonstrates
exceptional potential Familiarity with Medicaid eligibility, trust
funding, and planning for individuals with special needs Excellent
writing and interpersonal skills Ability to approach legal planning
with empathy and clarity Interest or experience in alternative
dispute resolution is a plus Salary Range: $100,000 to $120,000
