This position provides leadership in full systems life cycle management (e.g., analyses, technical requirements, design, coding, testing, implementation of systems and applications software, etc.) to ensure delivery is on time and within budget. He/She directs component and data architecture design, technology planning, and testing for Applications Development (AD) initiatives to meet business requirements and ensure compliance. This position develops and leads AD project activities and integrations. He/She guides teams to ensure effective communication and achievement of objectives. This position researches and supports the integration of emerging technologies. He/She provides knowledge and support for applications' development, integration, and maintenance. This position leads junior team members with project related activities and tasks. He/She guides and influences department and project teams. This position facilitates collaboration with stakeholders. Responsibilities:

• Leads systems analysis and design.
• Leads design and development of applications.
• Develops and ensures creation of application documents.
• Defines and produces integration builds.
• Monitors emerging technology trends.
• Leads maintenance and support.
• Working knowledge of building analytics solutions with Google Cloud Platform
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery Datawarehousing and preferably at least one major certification (e.g. Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer)
• Good understanding of data engineering concepts such as Schema Management, Metadata management, Data Lineage, Tokenization, etc
• Experience of cloud cost optimization and management strategies
• Strong understanding of cloud provisioning, services, security, and cost management in public cloud environments
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and enhance software/tooling solutions
• Ability to design workloads in cloud for resiliency and performance utilizing cloud native design principles Design and implement automated deployment strategies that scale with the business
• Research, design and apply advanced security techniques
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
• Experience of managing a cloud platform and related compliance and audit activities
• Experience of developing and testing using automation frameworks
• Expertise across SDLC and associated techniques such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency and Security software development
• Experience with Agile frameworks & DevSecOps Practices
• Experience connecting MS PowerBI views to GCP BigQuery Design and Build deliverables sampling on new development requests:
  • Design high performing secure application solution that accepts data feeds from source systems and performs data transfers, transformations and aggregation in Google Cloud platform, BigQuery, etc.
  • Generate data characteristics reports to ensure data consistency and accuracy
  • Develop ETL/ ELT routines for data loads into BigQuery data structures.
  • Develop reporting views and materialized views for easy data access while maintaining security of data/information
  • Provide self-service reporting capabilities using Looker and PowerBI
  • Develop process controls and exception handling routines
  • Develop time and event-based scheduling and process restart ability capabilities
  • Design project consolidated DR and sustainability plan to meet the project NFRs
  • Utilize CI/CD pipelines with the use of Jenkins and azure DevOps for custom code and production distribution; setup version control processes
  • Interface agreements with the data sources
  • Solution Design Document
  • Review and get approval on the data model from the UPS data modeling team
  • Code with proper documentation in TFS code repository
  • Promotion of software from dev/Sandbox, Test and production adhering to UPS change control practices.
  • Data quality and connectivity:
    • Data quality reporting, recommendations, and remediation of data anomalies
    • Data connections to other GCP instances to feed and/or consume information for use cases Testing Responsibilities/Deliverables sampling:
      • Testing and verification of data transfers, data transformation and data aggregation in Google Cloud platform and BigQuery, etc.
      • Perform product tests and performance tests and document results
      • Evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of automated test solutions
      • Creation, review and update of all test artifacts, review meetings and associated test activities based on UPS quality standards and guidelines
      • Detailed test cases/scripts which include positive, negative, and regression scenarios
      • Identification and documentation of test data requirements
      • Test data setup
      • Defect logging and reporting
      • Test execution and summary reports

        • Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent
