Healthineers.Job Summary:An Electrophysiology (EP) Technologist is
a specialized healthcare professional responsible for assisting
cardiologists in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm
disorders. They operate and maintain electrophysiology equipment,
assist in EP procedures, and ensure patient safety throughout the
process. The EP Technologist plays a crucial role in the EP lab,
providing technical expertise and support to ensure the success of
diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.Key Responsibilities:1.
Assist in EP Procedures: - Prepare and position patients for
electrophysiology studies and ablations. - Assist the
electrophysiologist during procedures, including catheter
placements and device implantations. - Monitor patient vitals and
ECG signals throughout the procedure. - Administer medications and
contrast agents as directed.2. Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Set up, calibrate, and operate EP lab equipment, including
electroanatomical mapping systems, defibrillators, and ablation
generators. - Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of
equipment to ensure optimal performance. - Maintain a clean and
organized lab environment.3. Patient Care and Safety: - Educate
patients and their families about the EP procedure, potential
risks, and post-procedure care. - Ensure all safety protocols are
followed to minimize the risk of infection and complications. -
Provide pre- and post-procedural care, including wound care and
monitoring for adverse reactions.4. Documentation and Reporting: -
Accurately document all aspects of the procedure, including patient
information, procedure details, and equipment settings. - Generate
and maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and
compliance with healthcare regulations. - Report any equipment
malfunctions or procedural complications to the appropriate
personnel.5. Collaboration and Communication: - Work closely with
cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure
seamless patient care. - Participate in team meetings, case
reviews, and continuous education sessions. - Communicate
effectively with patients, families, and team members to provide

Your SuccessQualifications:Education: - Associate's or Bachelor's
degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiology Technology, or a
related field. - Certification in Electrophysiology (RCES),
Invasive Cardiovascular Technology (RCIS), or American Registered
Radiology Technology (ARRT).Experience: - Minimum of 1-2 years of
experience in an EP lab or cardiac catheterization lab. - Hands-on
experience with EP lab equipment and procedures.Skills: - Strong
technical aptitude and proficiency with medical equipment and
software. - Excellent patient care and communication skills. -
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. -
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Certifications
and Licenses: - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced
Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. - State-specific
licensure or certification as required.Working Conditions:- Work in
a hospital or specialized cardiac care facility.- Potential
exposure to bloodborne pathogens and radiation; adherence to safety
protocols is mandatory.- Ability to stand for long periods and
perform physical tasks such as moving patients and equipment.- May
require on-call hours, nights, weekends, and holidays based on the
