Job Description:

Fulltime M-F receptionist position available in a very busy neurology office. Candidates must possess excellent phone and computer skills. Compassion towards patient care, professionalism, and strong work ethics mandatory. *Bilingual applicant mandatory (Spanish Speaking ) *At least 1 year experience in a medical office is preferred. Hours: 9-5pm, 35 hour work week, 1 hour lunch is unpaid. *Travel to our Jersey City office as needed.**\*\*ONLY ONLINE INQUIRIES WELCOME-DO NOT CALL OR FAX INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THIS JOB POSTING TO THE OFFICE\*\*\***SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES** Welcomes and greets patients/clients/visitors to the department in a manner that is helpful and friendly; determines purpose of visit and direct patients/clients/visitors to appropriate person or department(s).* Assist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation including medical insurance.* Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette( Heavy call volume). Receive and convey messages in writing, verbally and electronically as well as transfer calls as needed.* When scheduling appointments, carefully screens patients for new address, new patient visit or update registration and informs patient of adequate information that must be presented at time of visit.* Schedule hospital admissions, tests, scans and outside appointments for patients.* Checking patients in/out for their office appointments. Facilitates patient flow by notifying the provider of patients' arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff.* Obtain external medical reports as required by medical professionals* Must exercise utmost diplomacy and tact to provide excellent customer service for patients; practices confidentiality and privacy protocols in accordance to Clinic policies and HIPAA requirements* Maintains patient waiting areas, office files, and front-desk areas in a manner that is organized and neat.* Informs patient of any existing balance noted in computer and request patient be prepare for any payment due at time of visit.* Calls patients daily to confirm upcoming appointment(s).* Verifies method of payment for service (Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, private payee, etc.) and collects data and/or payment as appropriate. Collect co-pays and payments.* Fax, scan, and file documents(Scanning of medical records patient's EMR).* Prepare documents for mail-out* Open, stamp appropriately and distribute incoming mail.* Exercises problem-solving and conflict resolution skills when handling patient complaints; refers patient complaints to appropriate designated personnel as needed.* Maintain stock of office supplies* Performs other duties as may be required.* Travel to other office locations as needed.*QUALIFICATIONS** Understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality; able to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA standards.* Must have the ability to exercise a high degree of diplomacy and tact; excellent customer services and interpersonal communication skills; Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work with diverse people groups.* Intermediate to advanced phone skills; able to effectively relate via the telephone and in-person to serve the needs of Clinic patients/clients/visitors in a manner that is efficient and productive.* Must be highly flexible; able to accommodate changing needs of the department.* Well developed verbal and written communication skills. Additional language abilities desirable.(Spanish Speaking)* Ability to communicate with a diverse range of people* Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.
